Abstract
This paper presents a new simplified rotational loss tester. The advantage of this simplified tester is that it can be applied to any sized sample sheet in the manufacturing process, because the properties can be measured by simply putting a sample sheet between sensors of the tester. The basic characteristics of loss measurements are investigated and compared with ones of the conventional accurate apparatus. The results show that though there are still some problems in accuracy, it may be able to be solved by optimizing the yoke constructions
