Abstract :
We investigated the operating mechanism of the microstrip-line type pickup coil used for thin-film permeance measurements up to GHz range. We found that some flux lines form continuous loops around the ground plane when the coil has a sample window. How the flux distribution changes and how the induced voltage increases when a magnetic sample is inserted was clarified by measurements of flux distribution and finite element calculations
