Abstract
This paper has proposed a new four-level converter structure for low-voltage applications. The converter has low output harmonics and neutral-point-voltage-balancing capability. The switching states of the converter have been analyzed and the current flow path has been identified. A modulation and control algorithm has been devised to control the neutral points´ voltage and flying capacitor voltage, which is validated by simulations results.
