Abstract
Sierpinski space-filling curves are introduced and employed to construct the unit-cell topologies of electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) structures with different bridges. Three novel designs using Sierpinski curves with first three iterations have been proposed and applied to high-speed circuits. From the measured data, it can be observed that the proposed designs have shown good performance in eliminating simultaneous switching noise (SSN). Remarkably, the -50 dB noise suppression bandwidth of the first design utilizing a Sierpinski curve with one iteration can be broadened from 263 MHz to 19 GHz. Both simulation and measured results are presented to verify the performance.
