Abstract :
On Saturday, October 16, 2010, Jan C. Willems was awarded the Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Liege, Belgium. Jan is presently a guest professor at K.U. Leuven, and he is an emeritus professor at the University of Groningen. He is the founding editor of Systems and Control Letters. His early research focused on the development of dissipative systems theory and linear matrix inequalities, while his more recent interests are on behavioral modeling of systems.
