Abstract :
The Berlekamp-Massey iterative algorithm for decoding BCH codes is modified to eliminate the calculation of inverses. This new algorithm is useful in the practical application of multiple-error-correcting BCH or RS codes. A VLSI architecture is developed for this algorithm.
