Abstract :
Donald Christiansen´s “From Jennys to jets” [November 1986, p. 35] could be misleading to those not familiar with aviation history. The $25 000 prize won by Charles Lindbergh was not for “the first pilot to cross the Atlantic” but for the first pilot to fly directly from New York to Paris or from Paris to New York.
