Abstract :
Waste is not just discarded materials: it includes wasted time, energy, water and excessive use of raw materials. By taking a systematic approach to waste minimisation you will be able to manage and reduce waste in all its forms. In most companies an effective waste minimisation policy could reduce operating costs by at least 1% of turnover without too much effort or cost. This level of saving going straight to the bottom line often translates into a difference of at least 10% on profitability. The author discusses how to start minimising waste in a company.
