Abstract
This paper presents a mathematical model and simulation of some of the phenomena that affect the power quality, applying the Discrete Wavelet Transform to obtain the energy distribution of the first 10th detail coefficients in order to process the data and obtain characteristic patterns from each signal. These signals patterns are used to train several intelligent classifiers to determine which has best results regarding the prediction of the class to which it belongs (the energy quality phenomena). On the other hand, with the energy distributions of the detail coefficients establishing a general index of electric power quality and compared with existing indexes.
