Abstract :
This paper presents a finite element formulation of the Landau-Lifschitz equation, where the exchange field is decomposed in a coarse-scale and a fine-scale term, following a multiscale approach. The proposed method is validated by comparison with a standard finite element solution considering some typical magnetization distributions in a thin film. Finally, a magnetization process in the same thin film is simulated and the results are found to be in satisfactory agreement with the standard finite element predictions.
