Abstract :
In order to study the vibration characterization of a spindle motor, the rotor runout must be measured accurately. In this paper, a method based on measurement uncertainty is presented to evaluate different measurement systems and measurement confidence. The principle optic interferometer (iRVM) system is introduced in this paper, which is based on optical interference technology. The results of the iRVM are compared with another two methods that make use of capacitance probe and laser Doppler velocimetry.
