Title :
Putting Students First [women to watch]
Abstract :
Dr. Cynthia Furse, an electrical engineer with both a master´s degree and a Ph.D. is the associate vice president for research at the University of Utah. She is charged with helping the university conduct more socially impacting research. One of Furse and her colleagues successful work was when they modified the University of Utah´s ECE Ph.D. qualifier exam. The new process is said to be more student-friendly and more effective for professors. This paper discusses the new examination method along with its advantages over the old one. The paper also mentions some of Furse´s other achievements.
