Abstract :
Inter-cell interference coordination (ICIC) is considered as the most promising approach for LTE to mitigate inter-cell interference. One important approach for ICIC is Soft Frequency Reuse (SFR). However, the analytical model of SFR has not been fully studied yet as cell-center mobile platforms occupying channels from the center band or the edge band were not distinguished. We derive a new analytical model to describe the call admission control in SFR-based systems. The performance measures of interest are new call blocking probability and outage probability. Further, we compare the performance of SFR-based systems and non-SFR- based systems. The analytical results are validated with simulation results. The analytical results are in reasonable agreement with the simulation results.
