Abstract :
The authors have developed a new optical transmission coding scheme called OMODS (optical modified duobinary signal) for long-distance, high-speed optical transmission systems that is effective in reducing degradation in an optical pulse caused by the optical fibre´s chromatic dispersion and fluctuations in the transmitting signal´s mark ratio. Computer simulations and experiments have demonstrated the effectiveness of this coding method
