Abstract :
THE SPECIAL section on R, D, and E personnel in this issue is the second one on this subject in the TRANSACTIONS. The first, in the December, 1961 issue, contained articles on various aspects of evaluation and training. The one in this issue is mainly concerned with evaluation. Like the previous special sections, this one is made up of articles received in recent months which appeared to focus on an area of strong interest to readers of the TRANSACTIONS and is not intended as a statement of the ¿state of the art¿ on the subject or an exhaustive review of it. These special sections are intended to serve as convenient groupings of subject matter for ease in reference, storage, and later retrieval when a question in a particular area of R, D, and E management arises.
