Abstract
Summary form only given. Ubiquitous use of handheld devices has put a tremendous strain on the available bandwidth of communication. The scarcity of spectrum has rapidly shifted the modern systems towards multiple input and multiple output systems (MIMO). The development of MIMO antennas has attracted significant attention in literature. The efficiency of the MIMO system is dictated by the correlation coefficient and which in turn depends on the isolation between the antenna ports. To the best of our knowledge all designed MIMO antenna accomplish isolation in the range of -12 dB to -35 dB. Reducing the isolation further will increase the channel capacity and hence result in efficient spectrum utilization. In this work, our aim is to design an MIMO antenna with very high isolation. The design is based on a novel high isolation wide band 180° Hybrid. The wide band hybrid architecture is based on wideband, 0 and 180 degree phase division available at H-plane and E-plane waveguide tee junction.
