Abstract
A reference model scheme is presented for coordination of controllers with the purpose of enhancing the damping of interarea oscillations in power systems. The controller´s parameters are calculated by an unconstrained optimization algorithm. Strong and simultaneous stabilization concepts are used to check the applicability of results under different operating conditions
