Abstract
Early experiences with the AT&T ISDN 5ESS switch in the US are highlighted. A detailed description is given of the planning process used to determine the ISDN requirements and the ongoing effort needed for implementing a large-scale corporate integrated voice and data network for Bell Laboratories. Applications of the network for personal computer connections and for facsimile machines and other switched 64 or 56 kb/s services are discussed.<>
