Abstract :
The paper indicates some inaccuracies in an earlier paper by B.S. Chen and W.J. Wang (see ibid., vol.131, p.182-8, 1984). In particular, if the plant is stable, it is not possible to use the algorithm given by the paper to design an LQG optimal controller that achieves the desired purposes.
