Abstract
The paper first outlines the operational requirements governing the use of communication equipment in aircraft, and then gives some details of the special conditions to which airborne apparatus is exposed when in flight. The effect of these requirements and conditions on broad design principles is indicated, and typical examples are quoted of equipments produced to meet them. Finally an attempt is made to forecast the probable lines of future development.
