  • Abstract
The circuit theory of an instrument for measuring the resonant frequencies of reradiating structures is analysed in detail, and conditions for its proper working are formulated. The development of the instrument, its circuit and performance, are described. Various applications of the instrument are given, such as the measurement of resonant frequencies of earthed structures, and of loop and transmission-line circuits, and ¿balancing¿ of the senseaerial system of high-frequency direction-finding installations on board ship. Some examples of practical measurements are also given, and the limitations of the instrument are stated.
