Abstract :
A new procedure for synthesising lossy reflection-mode filters is presented. The resultant one-port prototype networks enable any lossless approximation function to be realised with finite Q circuit elements, provided a constant level of passband attenuation may be tolerated. Numerical examples are presented for a second-order Butterworth filter and a fourth-order elliptic function bandstop filter
