Abstract :
The magnetically scannable millimetre wave leaky wave antenna using an H-guide loaded with a corrugated ferrite slab was proposed and demonstrated both theoretically and experimentally at Q-band (33-50 GHz). The average scanning rate for the magnetic field was found to be 2°/0.1 T with the average half-power beamwidth of 5.5° at 45 GHz, which agrees with the numerical results based on the exact dispersion relation of the H11x mode. Also the effects of a metal reflector backing the corrugated structure at a certain distance have been examined
