Abstract :
We present theoretical and experimental characterization of a high-gain and high-output power Pr3+-doped fluoride-fiber amplifier. A comprehensive theoretical analysis of the amplifier has been carried out for the case of large signals. Thorough experimental characterization of the amplifier is reported, and +20-dBm output power has been obtained
