Abstract :
Measurement plays a key role in science and technology in which it is a privileged way of gathering information from the real world and of validating scientific models. Is it possible to achieve a unified measurement theory for the different disciplines, ranging from physics to psychology, in which it is involved? A basic kernel for such a theory is surveyed and discussed. A probabilistic approach is followed in order to consider uncertainty as an inherent feature.
