Abstract :
A circuit using two sample-hold stages is described for generating a large variety of pulse functions. These include a single major transition consisting of a staircase where the step magnitudes are either exponentially decreasing or exponentially increasing, or, as a special case, are equal. Another pulse function is a pulse burst consisting of pulse waveforms where their amplitudes are either exponentially decreasing or exponentially increasing, or, as a special case, are equal. The author gives the equations and describes a practical circuit.
