Abstract
On 2 June 2003, the Russian Soyuz Fregat rocket was successfully launched from Kazakhstan´s Baikonur Cosmodrome, carrying the ESA Mars Express and Beagle 2. The Beagle 2 Mars lander was designed to penetrate Martial soil and collect sub-surface samples which could be indicator of life. However, Beagle 2 disappeared in Martian atmosphere and scientists could not find any reason for it. Thus, Beagle 2 met the same fate as its namesake HMS Beagle.
