Abstract :
The static magnetic birefringence (SMB) of copper and zinc ferrite ionic magnetic fluids (IMFs) were investigated within the oscillating dipole-interaction anisotropy concept. The model was extended to include the magnetic texture of the contributing particle agglomerates and the field dependence of the magnetic permeability. The SMB data of samples containing particle concentration in the range of 1×1016 to 5×1016 particle/cm3 were successfully described
