Abstract :
Presents a procedure for counting the number of stopping objects, such as persons who are coming to wait for an elevator or equivalent. The movements and stopping of the objects are sensed with the aid of two Doppler radars, whose band-limited output-signal amplitude changes are used to identify the change of velocity of the objects. The measured Doppler signal amplitude values are made independent of the distance between the object and the radar modules by a new correction algorithm. The number of objects stopping is calculated from the magnitude of the distance corrected, and amplitude changes.
