Abstract :
The computer modeling of instantaneous currents within a multistage depressed collector is presented. MAFIA, a three-dimensional (3-D) electromagnetic finite integration code, performs the collector analysis. The computational results provide valuable insight into the performance of the collector and show excellent agreement with experimental measurements and with the classic axially symmetric (2½-D), steady-state computations
