Abstract
Gabor function expansions are of particular interest in image analysis and understanding because they offer a means by which an image can be represented in an invariant form in both time and frequency domains. An asymptotic technique is developed for determining the coefficients of Gabor expansions. The technique overcomes some of the problems of the analytical determination of the coefficients of the expansions and may permit dealing with a larger class of functions.
