    The six papers in this special section focus on vehicle power and propulsions. The section has been organized to focus on state-of-the-art research and development, as well as future trends in the modeling, design, control, and optimization of advanced power and propulsion systems for electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.
