Editorial Video communication over wireless networks

Running video applications overwireless networks is technically demanding due to constraints and heterogeneities such as bandwidth restrictions, channel noise and interference, and a variety of protocols and standards. Developing solutions requires wide experience and knowledge involving channel models, modulation, codec structures and features, and implementation details of the ever-expanding wireless technology menagerie. The aim of this Special Issue is to provide the communications engineer with an insight into current research in this rich and expanding field.
