  • Abstract
The plasmonic devices based on surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) are promising to build up compact on-chip integrated circuits for the next generation information technology. It is shown that ultrathin corrugated metallic strips can support the propagating of spoof SPPs in the microwave and terahertz frequencies with low propagation loss and bending loss, and hence can be conveniently manipulated to design spoof SPP devices and complicated circuits. We present several functional SPP devices in the terahertz frequencies, including SPP waveguide, beam splitter, ring resonator, filter, directional coupler, and converter of guided waves to SPPs. Based on such SPP devices, a THz multi-functional SPP circuit is presented.
