IEEE students set the PACE: This professional awareness conference resulted in heightened interest in the IEEE and a boost in membership

Engineering is more than a job, it is a profession. A professional must be technically competent, but he also has the responsibility of maintaining the integrity of his profession. There will be many ethical, social, and economic questions that we will have to deal with in the future. It is time that we as students learn how to handle these questions effectively, as we prepare ourselves for a professional career. It is the aim of this conference to complement our technical training by making us more aware of the concept and scope of professional practice.
