Abstract :
You have produced an outstanding technical report, and your new employer has asked you to present this wonder at a forthcoming conference. Or perhaps you´ve been asked to make a sales presentation, lead a training workshop, chair a business meeting, or be the keynote speaker at a major convention. These are only a few of the many scenarios in your career where you may be asked to stand up and make a presentation. Opportunities like these give you visibility and help promote your career, but if you are like most engineers, your first reaction is distaste and fear. The fear, in particular, grows as the date for your presentation draws near, and it intensifies as you sit in back of the audience listening to other speakers who precede you. Your best defense against this fear of public speaking is knowing that you have adequately prepared and rehearsed your presentation, and that you are in full control of the situation.
