Abstract :
Dispersion compensated transmission of 43 ps long chirped pulses over 80 km standard telecommunication fibre is demonstrated. A 100 mm lone apodised fibre grating was used. The results show that the control of the chirp of the optical pulses used in transmission systems may not be necessary
