Abstract
The maximum likelihood estimates of mean power of reflections from meteorological objects (MO) are derived for four different cases. The laws of distribution of well-known estimate of mean MO power are derived. Based on them, its statistical characteristics are determined. Their dependences on training sample size, intensity of reflections from MO, and type and level of their interperiod correlation are analyzed.
