Abstract
In this paper, we discuss the approach that is based on the concept of polarization spectrum of radar signal reflected from weather target. The possibility to use this approach for wind speed calculation and drop size estimate is shown. Also we discuss some requirements to modern polarimetric radar systems to achieve the better abilities when measuring polarization spectrum. It is expected that considered approach enhance ability of modern meteorological radar to detect dangerous for flight atmospheric formation.
