Abstract :
A method of equalization for a coherent frequency hopped spread-spectrum receiver, operating in a heavily multipath-contaminated channel, is presented. The performance in the presence of thermal noise and either noise or multi-tone jamming is obtained and compared with the performance of a noncoherent frequency hopped spread-spectrum system operating in the same environment. It is shown that significant improvement in performance, in the presence of partial-band jamming, is achieved, primarily due to the equalization
