  • Abstract
    A novel method for the analysis of the effectiveness of an SVC and a STATCOM of the same kVAr rating for first-swing stability enhancement is presented and the concept is demonstrated with a numerical example. The analysis shows that the STATCOM is superior to the SVC for first-swing stability enhancement
