Abstract :
For whom is the IEEE? The IEEE Bylaws state that to qualify for membership, an individual´s background should “pertain to designated fields of interest to IEEE, including electrical engineering, electronics, computer engineering and computer sciences, and the allied branches of engineering and related arts and sciences.” The Bylaws also state that the grade of Member is limited to individuals who have demonstrated professional competence in IEEE designated fields. A graduate with a baccalaureate degree from a “recognized educational program” also qualifies.
