Abstract :
Using the basis of the variational principle, a method to control numerical solution wiggles of the diffusion-drift equation is proposed, which coincides with the S-G (Scharfetter-Gummel) and SUPG (streamline-upwind Petro-Galerkin) methods in special cases.
