Abstract :
“We have for two years past been making use of the electric light, and our experience with it makes its use on a larger scale very desirable. Its safety, steadiness, agreeableness to the eye, its economy, and last, but not least — its educating power, have been fully demonstrated here, and I hope that we may secure the means necessary for a permanent use of the system. The cost, as nearly as we can now estimate, will be reduced by special terms, to $6000.”
