Abstract :
A dispersion- and polarisation-insensitive all-optical method for transmitting and extracting a subcarrier multiplexed (SCM) signal using a fibre Bragg grating filter without a conventional SCM circuitry is demonstrated. Fibre transmission experiments conducted on standard singlemode fibres of varying lengths up to 80 km showed excellent sensitivity with no apparent fading effects
