Abstract :
This paper presents a numerical behaviour analysis of a linear electromagnetic actuator, together with experimental investigation. In order to evaluate its dynamic performance, the coupling between electric, magnetic and mechanical phenomena is established. The problem is investigated by using the finite element method coupled with a parameterization method, taking movement into account. The displacement of moving parts and inductor current are determined when the device is supplied by capacitor discharge voltages
