Abstract :
A numerical technique for treating a nonrectangular shape of a self adjacent layer (SAL) type magneto-resistive (MR) recording head, especially the angled interface between the MR/spacer/SAL and the permanent magnet is described. Causes of noise in the MR head response are analyzed with this technique. The responses of the MR head using the proposed technique are compared with those of a conventional model. The separation of the materials at the interface of the head is important to reduce the noise
