Abstract :
The life of Albert Speer should be a required study for aspiring technical specialists all over the world. For those unfamiliar with him, Speer was Adolf Hitler´s confidant as well as chief architect and later Minister of Armaments for Nazi Germany during World War II. For his part in the war effort, Speer was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment by the Allied Tribunal at Nuremburg. While serving time, he maintained a fascinating prison diary which has been published as Spandau: The Secret Diaries (New York: Macmillan, 1976). His autobiography, entitled Inside the Third Reich (New York: Macmillan, 1970), has been used by many to study the inner workings of Hitler´s Germany.
