Abstract
Hearing-aid principles are presented, and the complexity of selecting and fitting hearing aids to patients due to the fact that the acoustic impedance of the ear varies significantly across individuals is discussed. The use of digital processing to solve this problem is described. The development of a unit is examined, and future improvements are briefly considered.
