Abstract :
IEEE Student membership is an exceptional bargain. A modest amount of money facilitates membership in the professional society that represents the broad area of electrical engineering. Spectrum, The Institute and Potentials provide coverage of the technical and professional progress in the field. Discount student rates for membership in the technical societies allow much deeper reading in specialized areas. Participation in branch, chapter and section activities brings the student into contact with both technical information and a cross section of professional engineers. Access to technical conferences and shows at greatly reduced prices can in itself pay for the cost of membership.
